My daughter loves Brave Girls and this makes for a happy mom when my 14 year old daughter with special needs gets excited about reading. Reading is a hard task for her and when she gets excited about reading then it brings much joy to my heart especially when it’s a devotional. I was super exited for Brave Girls 365 Devotional. My daughter was just as delighted as I was.
Brave Girls 365 Devotional is a hardback book with a fun pink cover featuring all the Brave Girls. A pink ribbon bookmark to keep your place clearly marked.
The devotion starts out with a brief introduction about the book. Afterwards, it devotes a few pages to the 5 Brave Girls introducing them to the reader. The Brave Girls are Hope, Glory, Honor, Gracie, and Faith. Each girl is unique and has different personalities. Your Brave Girl may find one that they can identify with or maybe like my daughter can find traits in each of the Brave Girls that are like her.
There are 416 colorful pages. The pages have pink and white with a particular Brave Girl featured on it. There is devotion for each day of the year which is labeled on the top right side of the page. It starts with January 1st and goes till December 31st. I like that the dates don’t include a year.
Each day devotions are on one page. It starts out with a topic and then followed by a supporting scripture verse. The devotions are short and encouraging. They go over what the particular scripture verse means to them. When I say them I mean one of the 5 Brave Girls. The devotions vary from some contemporary day to day life of a young girl or tween. Then others have stories from the Bible and so much more!
There are a few activities throughout from quizzes with you choosing a scenario that you might make in a situation. Others have places that you can write in a space. There are also some true and false questions that make the Brave Girls devotion more interactive. Even if you don’t write in the book it can be done mentally or talking out loud about it with someone. My daughter struggles with writing also. She did the activities privately in her head or got me involved with them so we could talk about the activity.
The devotions end with a Prayer Pointer that can be a challenge if they choose to accept what is being said. All of them are heartfelt.
I love the varied of the topics and the varied of the activities. This is just a wonderful devotion for girls. I felt the topics and devotions are very applicable for today’s world. It stresses seeking God in prayer, spending time with the Bible, obeying your parents, and being Godly Girls.
I would highly recommend Brave Girls 365 Devotional.
