So Great a Love by Kristie Wilde Book Review

So Great a Love is the second book in the Joyful Creation series. It explores various attributes of God’s love for us using examples from His creation, and is designed to be read to small children and inspire conversations about God and His character in a way they can relate to. Full color pages, with realistic illustrations, take viewers deep into the animal’s world, while the simple text guides readers along.

About the Author

Kristie Wilde is owner of Wilde Art, an artwork, illustration, design and publishing business in Sonora, CA. Watercolor is her medium of choice with a realistic style and whimsical tendencies, which delightfully enliven this educational little children's book, Made for a Purpose. This is the first book in her "Joyful Creation" series. Mrs. Wilde blends her experience as an artist and illustrator with her experience communicating educational concepts while working with the interpretive department for the U.S. Forest Service. Kristie uses these skills and her expertise in Photoshop to manage projects from concept to completion.

My thoughts:

I reviewed the first book in the series Made for a Purpose awhile back and loved the book.  I was excited to see the second book in the series.

I love good quality children’s books that show our children Gods love. I love the illustrations in children’s books especially when they are done well.

This is a paperback book with 24 pages. The reading level is around 4-7. The layout is on two pages with full colored illustrations covering both pages. The illustrations are very detailed and very realistic. Your child will love exploring each page with all the detailed treasures to find. Everything from a honey bee to a birds feather being blown away in the wind. The words are only a sentence or two which is perfect for kids in this age range.

The best part of this story is that all the pictures are tied to a scripture verse. Each page has a few words on it. An example is-“He wants to gather you as a hen gathers her chicks.” The illustration is of a hen gathering her chicks.  The scripture reference is from Matthew 23:37.

At the back of the book is a section, “Scriptures” This has 10 scripture references from the book.

This is a delightful book that I would highly recommend. This would make a wonderful gift for someone little in your life. A perfect bed time story to remind our children how much God loves us.

You can purchase this book at Amazon.

I received this book free from the publisher through the BookCrash.com book review program, which requires an honest, though not necessarily positive, review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
