Alone Yet Not Alone Book Review and Giveaway

This historical drama is based on a true story. The full-length feature film recounts the faith and courage of a German-American immigrant family as they face hardship, loss and sorrow during the French and Indian War.

The year is 1755, and the English colonies are being ravaged by the atrocities of war.

Opposing European powers have clashed over the fertile Ohio valley, and entire families are devastated by the ensuing violence. Hostile native tribes are raiding the vulnerable frontier farms, and two young sisters are among those taken captive.

While hoping for rescue and return to their home, they are comforted with the words of a family hymn: Alone Yet Not Alone. But when the sisters are suddenly and cruelly separated, their tender faith is brought to a stretching point.

Forcibly immersed into a primitive foreign culture, the older sister, Barbara, clings to her beliefs. Yet now a deeper fate threatens, and she makes a difficult decision: to risk her life in an attempt to escape.

Pursued by a relentless and cunning warrior, Barbara and her three fellow captives must cross over two hundred miles of raw wilderness in their effort to reach friendly territory.

Will their courage and trust in God be enough to see them through? And if they do succeed, will they find their family? Will Barbara ever see her sister again?

Alone Yet Not Alone depicts the riveting true story of a family at a critical juncture in our nation's history.

My Thoughts:

What a moving story of faith in God and His amazing love. I loved reading about how God sustained them through their darkest hours. Grab your tissue and get ready to snuggle up to a good book. I had a hard putting it down.

This is a very inspiring book that I truly enjoyed reading, “Alone Yet Not Alone”. The girls had such faith in God at such a young age. That faith in God gave them hope that one day they would be reunited with their family one day.

This is written for preteen but, honestly it is a book for all ages. I am looking forward to reading this to my kids this year as we study early American History. Suitable for all ages and for all types of genres: action, adventure, historical, and faith. Yep it’s all there.
This true story will be made into a movie and released in theaters on September 27, 2013. I know my family and I are looking forward to seeing it.

If you can’t wait till late September for the movie you can read the book before it comes out on the big screen. Flyby Promotions is graciously offered to give a copy of the book to one of my readers. So please enter below, your family and you will love this book!
