A Day At the Nature Center

Yesterday we had a fun day at the nature center with some friends. The weather was perfect for a walk on the trails.

 How can you not go Bug hunting with all the tall grass on the prairie.

 

 Our big catch of the day was this Velvet Ant. Little Man spotted it. This insect is not actually an ant. Its a wasp with a painful sting.

The nature center has an indoor museum. 

We fed the turtles.

Geese

Lots of Goslins

Summer break is officially here. I look forward to strolls in the park, visiting with friends, and just slowing down the pace a bit.
