My Thoughts:

In the early 90’s I began juicing faithfully. I started for health reasons. It was the best decision I made concerning my health. I am already sold on the benefits of juicing.

A few years back I stopped juicing. I gained weight, and then I had the same recurring health issues. I don’t know why I stopped juicing as I enjoyed it and know firsthand the benefits of juicing. I was really excited to see this book up for review. I needed some inspiration.

I like how Cherie explains about the juicing machines and the different types. I wish I would have had this book in the early 90’s. I brought several juice machines that where horrible. Some broke quickly, or you had to chop everything in small pieces and on and on the list went. Eventually I broke down and bought a nice machine and I still have that machine after almost 20 years and it works like a charm. I could have paid for it after all the ones beforehand. I am glad to see the author touch on the topic of the importance of the machine and she isn’t selling one that has her name on it. If you are serious about juicing it is worth investing in a good machine. The reality is that all machines you are going to have the mess of cleaning up.

I like the quality of the book. The binding is very good. This is important in a cookbook type of book. There are a lot of colors and pictures throughout. This is very pleasing to the eyes. You have 400 + recipes to choose from. You can find just about anything to suit your taste buds and your budget.

All the benefits of juicing are talked about in the book. Cherie does a wonderful job in Chapter 1 showing you a complete overview of juicing. The green smoothie recipes are wonderful. The smoothie thing is new to me and I have enjoyed trying them.

I would have liked the book to have a bit larger print. Really that is something I can overlook in a book. Not the author’s fault I’m getting older and prefer larger print.

One disappointment is that there is no index of the juices so I can quickly find my favorites rather than bookmarking the book to death.

If you are just thinking about beginning to juice or like me and needing some inspiration then this is a wonderful book that is loaded with information and recipes. Whether you are trying to lose weight, health reasons, or just want to have a healthy life style this is a great book for you.
