Kwik Stix a TOS Crew Review

I was delighted to have another opportunity to review Kwik Stix from The Pencil Grip, Inc. At the end of last year we received the Kwik Stix 12 pk. This time around we received a Kwik Stix 6 pk Metalix and the Kwik Stix 6 pk Neons. Also included was a bag of goodies with instruction and a red Kwik Stix and The Pencil Grip.

What is Kwik Stix?

A busy mom’s best friend that makes you feel like an amazing mom! Okay, I may be a bit dramatic. I really dislike the mess of my kids using paint. It just takes so much time with getting water, pulling out brushes, and I don’t want to mention clean up and spills. More so with my 13 year old daughter with special needs as she makes a terrible mess like a small child does. It makes me feel guilty telling them, “No, we can’t paint today”. I really dread it. At the same time it brings me joy with the excitement my kids have while creating art projects. They love painting and making beautiful masterpieces.

 

Kwik Stix is solid tempera paint that comes in a plastic tube like a glue stick container. The paint sticks twist up and down. They are also easy to grasp and control. They are a nice size for small hands to grasp as the container is thick. The lids snap on easy to seal the container. It’s also a non-toxic paint that dries in 90 seconds. You also don’t need water to us Kwik Stix. The best part is that the clean-up is easy! My kids put them up nicely. I don’t have to worry about them spilling the dirty paint water or dropping brushes on the floor. I don’t have to do the clean-up for them.

 

Kwik Stix can be used on types of surfaces like on paper, poster board, cardboard, wood, and on a canvas!  Ages 3+

The paint texture is very smooth in the container and on the surface while using them. The colors are very vibrant. No smears or clumps when you are using them. My kids found out that you can blend the colors last time we received them. All you have to do is take your finger and go over the colors. However, you do have to do the blending immediately.

 

The Kwik Stix 6 pk Neons have nice vibrant colors. The colors in this set are pink, yellow, purple, green, blue, and orange.

Kwik Stix 6 pk Metalix are bold colors with a hint of a shimmer within the colors. The colors are gold, dark green, dark blue, silver, deep purple, and a dark pink color.

 

The Pencil Grip

The Pencil Grip  is easy to grasp for children. This is a fabulous way to teach kids how to hold a pencil correctly. The texture of the grip is soft. It uses the tripod grasp.

How did I use Kwik Stix in my homeschool?

My kids painted to their hearts delight. We used up the Kwik Stix 12 pk prior and my kids begged me to get more so they could have a whole rainbow of colors.

We painted lots of pictures. I even joined in coloring masterpieces with my kids.

We made a Omer chart for counting 50 days till Shavuot(Pentecost). Each day has a different design on it.

We are getting ready for a fundraiser for 4-H and we created a poster to display the club!

My family loves Kwik Stix. They can be used in so many types of art projects. No mess tempera paint and no mess kids art projects. They are a big hit with my family. The kids love them and I don’t mind letting them paint to their hearts content.
