Shadows at Dusk by Elizabeth Goddard Book Review

Montana Detective Trevor West is desperate to learn what happened to his sister, who went missing in Alaska over a year ago, leaving nothing but a few photographs as clues to her whereabouts. At the advice of Police Chief Autumn Long, Trevor enlists the help of an experienced bush pilot. If Carrie James can't help him find the places in the photographs, no one can.

But Carrie has her own agenda. Grieving the death of her closest friend and the only person she could trust, Carrie will help Trevor find his sister on one condition--that he help her track down her friend's killer.

As the two close in on the answers they crave, they'll face dangers and connections they could not have imagined. They'll have to learn to trust one another--and face the dark secrets of the past--if they are ever to discover the truth and bring a killer to justice.

My Thoughts:

This action-packed suspense mystery will take you from Africa to Alaska. You won’t be disappointed with this page-turner and the plot. The plot is complex and there is a lot going on but as usual, the author doesn’t disappoint.

I loved the characters as they were relatable and you couldn’t help to not invest your heart into the characters. Carrie’s life was one of betrayal and deep hurt.  She moved to Alaska thanks to a close friend Isaac who helped her move beyond the hurt and move forward. They are partners in business.

Carrie is a pilot of a float plane and Trevor hires her to fly over a location where he can match some photos that his sister left behind. Those photos lead Carrie and Trevor on a perilous journey that gets the attention of the person involved in Trevor's sister going missing. Now that they opened a can of worms, they have people chasing them and trying to eliminate them.  Carrie gets invested after her friend and partner, Isaac is killed as Trevor and her team up to investigate the disappearance of Trevor's sister and the murder of her friend.

You will also get to catch up with Autumn Long from the first book in the series, Cold Light of Day.

It is a wonderfully written Christian suspense with faith and a bit of clean romance. I highly recommend Shadows at Dusk by Elizabeth Goddard.
