The Lord is One

I love the things that come out of my kids mouth. Those words are so precious at times. It just touches my heart the things that they say. This has been one that I will tuck away in my heart for years to come.

Daddy was asking the kids how old is the Lord. This is what transpired out of this conversation.

Little Man replied, "Daddy he is one."

Daddy says," son he is not one years old."

Little Man says, "Daddy when we say the Shema it says, "Hear, O Israel The LORD our God is one"

How can you debate with the mind of a 5 year old who has memorized the scripture and taken it literaly!

We recite the Shema (Deuteronomy 6:4-9) every morning and evening in English and Hebrew.

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:  And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.   And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:   And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.   And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.   And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates

  1. Love it. They do take things literally, don't they? I'll have to share this with my kids. I'm hopping from the Totally Tuesday Blog Hop and I'm following you now. You can visit me at TheMamaZone.com where I host a twitter hop on Tuesdays and a blog hop every Wednesday.
