Travel through
Bible history with this comprehensible exploration of the Bible, following the
key narratives from Genesis to Revelation. Perfect as a child's first Bible
reference, he will travel through Bible lands and times and discover how the people
lived: the foods they ate, the homes they occupied, the clothes they wore, and
the work they performed. There are sections of study questions throughout to
further learning, as well as glossaries and FAQs to help understanding.
My Thoughts:
This is a nice Bible Handbook for an
older child, tween, or teen who is just beginning to study the Bible by
themselves. It will help guide them into thinking about the different events and
layout of God’s Word to make them dig deeper into God’s word.
For each book of the Bible you glimpse into
the book along with an outline of the events in that book. Each section has a, “Frequently
Asked Questions” about that particular book followed by a short summary of the
question. Another nice feature is, “Look out for”, which points out many different
things to take notice of while reading that particular book. Then another
feature is the, “Study Questions” which allows you to dig deeper.
The illustrations are gorgeous in
full-color pictures, maps, and 3D illustrations of the cities mentioned in the
Bible. You will see pictures of the Tabernacle, Solomon's Temple, Herod's Temple, and villages.
The pictures are well thought out and placed in the appropriate section of the Bible Handbook.
I didn’t see anything in this Bible
Handbook that I would question. I am very impressed with the layout, and topics
covered included within the pages of this handbook. This would make a nice gift
for ages 9-15 wanting to dig deeper into God’s word.
