An Amish Love by Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller, and Kelly Long

An Amish Love is three mini novels by different authors. All of the stories are intertwine by location and the same community. Each author mixed a little bit of the characters from each others novel. All the stories where completely different yet, made you feel like you where reading a series of some sort.


My favorite one was A Marriage of the Heart by Kelly Long. Abby Kauffman is trying so hard to find a way out of living under her fathers roof. Through her lies she finds herself married to new member who she falsely accuses of an inappropriate act. Joseph Lambert who just returned to the community finds himself married suddenly. They both find healing, stronger faith, forgiveness, and even love in there marriage. This was a story that I would love to see as a full novel. The characters were intriguing and yet so real.

What the Heart Sees by Kathleen Fuller was also a good story. Ellie Chupp loses her sight, and best friend from an accident. Plagued with nightmares, and guilt. Ellie is determined to try to be independent and thinks she has no chance of marriage. Christopher Miller left the community five years ago after losing his fiancee in the accident that left Ellie blind. After he returns home to make things right. He finds that he still has to let go and let God take over. They both find redemption, forgiveness and even find that they can love again.

Healing Hearts by Beth Wiseman is unlike the other stories as it deals with a married couple Naaman and Levina who have been an upstanding members of the community and raised their children to follow the Ordnung. The couple now have an empty nest and realize that they are strangers and have neglected each other. Naaman goes and visits his cousin and ends up staying for a year. Not sure why he has stayed away for so long or even what is going on inside of himself. His wife and children think he has abandon them and don’t know what to think of his leaving. When he returns the healing begins, redemption, and they see that God had something for Naaman to do. In the end they see the that God had His hand in it all and a greater purpose.
