Deadly Ties by Vicki Hinze
This is the second book from this series. Forget Me Not being the first book in this series. Which I have not read. This is the first book I have read by this author. She writes a very intriguing novel with lots of suspense. The author makes you feel like you know all the characters. I had no idea what would happen in all the different spins in this novel.
Dr. Charles Harper is killed and his seven year old daughter Lisa is abducted. She barely escapes her ordeal and is reunited with her mother Annie. Lisa buries the nightmare she lived and believes her father is killed when he fell off a roof in Haiti. Burying the memories and the truth of what really happened.
Annie is faced with money issues and the fear of not being able to provide for her daughter. She hastily marries a man who she thinks is a kind, loving and honorable man
Dutch Hauk who quickly becomes a nightmare beyond imagining. He is jealous, controlling, and evil to the core.
Annie relinquished her parental rights to a beloved friend when Lisa is 16 to save her daughters life. Annie refused to leave her marriage to this man because of her conviction of her marriage vows and her love of God.
Twelve years later Lisa finish’s medical school to become a Dr. Her and her mother are ready to begin a brand new life without Dutch. Dutch has a different agenda for both of them, a deadly one.
Mark Taylor a former member of and elite specialized unit call the “Shadow Watchers” Taylor is hired to protect Annie and Lisa. Mark calls in his former team to help protect the women. Little did any of them know that this is more than a crazed overbearing abusive maniac. Soon they realize NINA is involved, not sure how Dutch ties into this organization. NINA has international ties to drugs, female trafficking, and paid hit men.
Deadly Ties is an action packed, suspenseful novel that will keep you reading late in the night. Only by the grace of God, and many prayers can they endure the unthinkable in this love story.
Don't forget to rank my review!
