Goodbye to Yesterday by Wanda Brunstetter The Discovery - A Lancaster County Saga
February 05, 2013
Join Meredith and Luke Stoltzfus, an Amish
couple who are faced with the greatest challenge of their young lives. They are
faced with financial struggles, arguments, and a suspected pregnancy. Then
a last-minute trip to Middlebury, Indiana brings on a deadly encounter at a
Philadelphia bus station.
Will
their love and faith be enough to bring them back together again, against all
odds? Book 1 of the 6-part serial novel--The Discovery-A Lancaster County
Saga.
My Thoughts:
This book is the first of six books in her "The Discovery - A
Lancaster County Saga" series. I enjoy Wanda Brunstetter novels.
I love the story and the characters and the challenges that they
are facing. Only eight chapters in this novel. It felt a little lacking getting to know the characters. The story grabbed me then it just ended. Usually
after 8 chapters you are just getting to know the characters.
I seldom ever read other reviews prior to writing to my own, but this
one got me curious because of how different the format is from other book
series. I had to chuckle when I looked at
some of the other reviews. I was feeling the same way after reading this novel.
I felt like I did when I was interested in a weekly TV show that left you
hanging until the following week.
I am not sure I like the format of mini-series. I have to say I
prefer a complete novel. I am still too curious for my own good to want to see
what happens. I will most likely be reading the rest of the series only if I
can find them for free for a review. I don’t know about spending $6.99 each
book in the series or $4.99 for the Kindle eBook. The length of the story just
doesn’t seem worth the price. Please don’t
do this to your loyal fans that enjoy your books. I feel cheated of my time
reading a story and being left out hanging like that.
Handlebar Publicity Group has
provided me with a complimentary copy of this book. In no way was I asked to
give a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
