When Hope Blossoms by Kim Vogel Sawyer

Amy Knackstedt and her children moved to Weaverly, Kansas. Amy is hoping the move will help her heal after the loss of her husband.

Amy moves into an old farmhouse with a large piece of land. The local Mennonite community welcomes her and her children into the community. The men farm the land for her so she can work on her quilting business to support her family.

One day the children wander into the neighbor’s apple orchard. The neighbor Tim Roper is not so pleased that an old order Mennonite as moved next door.  He can’t help it to not like Amy’s charming kids. Parker is an 11 year old with disabilities who proclaims,” Tim as his best friend”. Tim tries had to keep a distance from the family but situations keep bring them together.

My thoughts:

What a delightful book. It grabs your heart from the get go. The characters are believable and very likable.  I didn’t want the book to end.

This book has been provided to me my by Bethany House Publisher free of charge and in no way was I asked to give a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

  1. I am hoping my tiny library has it. I need a good book. Is it a series?

  2. I don't think it is going to be a series. I would love to see it as one. I really enjoyed the characters.
