CrossTimber Review

Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way.

Personalized gifts are so fun to give and to get. Have you ever wondered what your name means or even the origins of it? It may surprise you what it really means or comes from. Historically names are full of meaning-all you have to do is look at names in the Bible and throughout many cultures to see that.

CrossTimber has you covered for unique gifts for anyone. I received a beautiful 8x10 Plaque print and an AmazingName Print Activity Sheets. A while back I had the priviledge of reviewing for CrossTimber before, you can read my review here.

Ordering was super easy to do for the 8x10 Plaque print. The hardest part is  deciding which design to choose since they have a nice selection to choose from. I had my son choose his design and he choose from this theme 8x10 Plaque print.

First you choose what theme you want and within each theme you have several options to choose from. Some themes have more variety than others.

Use the drop down menu to decide which one you want as your background. Then you can go up and down and see the different backgrounds. You can order just a print or you can also order a frame design to go with it for extra. They have other gift ideas also. After you have decided the background you just add in your name.

It’s very easy to order from CrossTimber. You will receive a confirmation email. The nice thing is that orders can be mailed worldwide. The hardest part is choosing what to order.

The package arrived with a piece of cardboard to keep your print for getting bent up. The paper is high quality and the ink is a nice glossy color that looks amazing. You can put two names on the print.

I choose to put my son’s first and middle name on it. You can do a couple getting married first names. Another option would be doing a first and last name or just a first name. Just email them and ask questions if you need to.

I knew what my son's first name meant and the origins. His middle name I was surprised at what I thought I knew. His middle name is a family name on my side that has been used by just about every male for generations. I have even asked my son to continue that tradition if he has a son in the future. So I pulled out my families genealogy records and did a bit more research as I was expecting Irish on my father's side. After a bit more research I discovered that McKinley was originally a last name from Scotland and a clan came over to Ireland and had a town named after the last name but the town didn't flourish. They never left Ireland and eventually McKinley became a common middle name after several generations. This actually allowed me to go back a bit more in my fathers ancestral history. How fun is that! Now my son is ready to take up bagpipes and a kilt! This might be an interesting combo with a kilt, kippah, bagpipes, and a Jewish prayer shawl for my son!

AmazingName Print Activity Sheets is just as easy to order. You can order it by single or in multiplies. Using the drop down menu to choose how many of the AmazingName Print Activity Sheets you want. You can order a set for each child in your family. Afterwards you will put in your child’s name. You will also receive a conformation email and a physical copy of the sheets and a PDF file. The physical copy came in the mail with my son's plaque and was packaged well with no bent corners or crumpled up pages.

There are 25 pages with your child’s name appearing throughout the pages over 80 times. This will delight children seeing their name in word searches, crosswords, mazes, desk name tags, print and cursive name pages to trace, coloring pictures, and other ways in the pages. There are also scripture verses to trace out. The activity pages do have something for all levels. All the activities have a easy, medium, and hard level. This is recommended for ages 3-12. I had to contact the owner as I didn't get my PDF file but he quickly answered back and took care of me. That is after having a baby added during the last few weeks! Having dealt with the company also in a prior review they are extremely professional and very easy to work with. I highly recommend CrossTimber.

I decided that my special needs 18 year old daughter would love this. She was thrilled to have her name throughout the many activities. She used a lot of the easier to medium activities. She also loved tracing the Bible verses and decided to use them as her weekly scripture memory verse.

She loves mazes and likes to go through them lightly with a pencil and then go back over them darker.

Wordsearches are her favorite activity of all to do. She liked that her name was included in the wordsearch.

My son did the harder word searches and enjoyed them too. He did this on a cold and yucky day outside.

A close up of a  completed word search done.

I also got involved and helped my daughter color some of the coloring pages. The AmazingName Print Activity Sheet became a family activity.

Here are several other pages for you to see that we received below.
