April 09, 2012
Defense attorney Caleb Tate, defended Antoine Marshall who has been in prison for killing Jamie Brock's mother. Though Antoine Marshall had passed two lie detector tests, the eyewitness testimony of Jamie's father was enough to convict him and sentence him to death.
Attorney Mace James is trying hard to overturning Marshall's conviction and death sentence. Mace is convinced Antoine is an innocent man. As Antoine's execution date draws near Mace has taken extreme measures to save him from his pending execution date.
Defense attorney Caleb Tate is accused of murdering his trophy wife Rikki. Brock wants to nail Caleb Tate with a capital punishment conviction. She and lead detective "LA" Finnegan work together to find the evidence to prove he murdered his wife. Brock is taking it personal with Caleb being the man who defended her mother's killer. Caleb Tate takes his case to the media and blames Rikki's and her past drug abuse and takes a lie detector tests to prove his innocence.
When Caleb Tate is held in prison until bond his set. He is ready to undermine the legal system in Milton County Georgia. Caleb befriends the toughest inmates and promising them to help them out of prison. Caleb Tate convinced the prisoners to reject plea bargains and take all cases to trial. When two prisoners agree to make deals they are murdered within a day.
To convict Caleb Tate is she willing to destroy the reputation of her father who just passed away? Brock realizes even her mother's death is not as black and white as she once thought. The entire justice system grinds to a halt and the prosecution has much less time to work on prosecuting Caleb Tate case. Which is what Caleb was counting on. No plea bargains is enough to almost bring the justice system to its knees.
If you enjoy John Grisham style of writing then you will love Randy Singer. Christian based legal thriller that will keep you in suspense through out this book. This is a fantastic multilayer novel that integrates the spiritual and difficult moral issues. I am looking forward to Randy Singer's next novel.
Tyndale House Publishers has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book. In no way was I asked to give a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
