You never know when I might play a wild card on you!
Jerry Eicher’s bestselling Amish fiction (more than 210,000 in combined sales) includes The Adams County Trilogy, the Hannah’s Heart books, and the Little Valley Series. After a traditional Amish childhood, Jerry taught for two terms in Amish and Mennonite schools in Ohio and Illinois. Since then he’s been involved in church renewal, preaching, and teaching Bible studies. Jerry lives with his wife, Tina, and their four children in Virginia.
Tina Eicher was born and married in the Amish faith, surrounded by a mother and sisters who were great Amish cooks. At fellowship meals and family gatherings, Tina’s dishes receive high praise and usually return empty. She and her husband, Jerry Eicher, author of several bestselling Amish fiction titles, are the parents of four children and live in Virginia.

My Thoughts:
Are you ready to gather around the table with some new recipes to try out? Best-selling author Jerry Eicher and his wife, Tina, have put together an amazing cookbook filled with yummy recipes. You can get a laugh or two while reading some of the Amish humor within this cookbook.
This is the Honeybun Cake, yummy! I had a little problem with the batter being thick trying to put a layer of the batter and the dry mix in the middle. I ended up taking a fork and swirling it together.
The pages are thick and look like that can stand up to a couple of spills and wiping of a washrag if needed. The cookbook is spiral bound which makes it easy to stay open while you’re preparing your delicious recipe.

I admit that
I am a cookbook junkie; I won’t admit to you how many I actually have! In that collection I have a couple of Amish
cookbooks and honestly not all the recipes in my Amish cookbooks are easy to
fix or practical for my family. This
cookbook however is more modern in style for the on the go busy life style that
we Englisch’s live. The ingredients are
practical and easy to find at my local grocery store.
This is a
cook book full of recipes that I will be sure to use over and over again. I have loved every recipe that I have
prepared so far. I made the Chicken Pot Pie, Oven Fried Buttermilk Chicken,
Honeybun Cake, and the Sweet Potatoes with Apples.

I took it to a potluck. I had to taste it to make sure it was good! I had two pieces before it went out the door. I am sure nobody will mind! I had a few folks ask for the recipe.

My only
drawback to this cookbook is that it doesn’t have any pictures. In my opinion
pictures are a must have in a cookbook. I want something to see that makes me
drool over a recipe:0)! Either way with
or without pictures you can see that the recipes are easy to prepare and yummy.
This book has been provided to me my by First WildCard
free of charge and in no way was I asked to give a positive review. The
opinions I have expressed are my own.
