Week in Review -Week #10-2013-2014
October 26, 2013
We are in Sonlight American History Part 2
Scripture Memory Verse is:
Jeremiah 29:11
This week we are in 1 and 2 Samuel.
This week we read, "You Wouldn't Want to Live in a Wild West Town! Dust You'd Rather Not Settle" by Peter Hicks.
We also read, "Audrey Bunny" by Angie Smith.
For Poetry we are reading, "The Oxford Illustrated Book of American Children's Poems" by Donald Hall.
Little Man attended both PE and Karate. I'm not sure what he did this week in PE as Grandpa had to take him. Bug had a surgical procedure done this week.
Bug had physical and occupational therapy. No speech therapy this last week.
Bug has two weeks off from horse therapy. Bug has been doing a fund raiser for her horse therapy. She surprised me with how well she did she raised $745.10 for herself. She also had to write down people's contributions, add it up, make thank you cards, and give tax exempt receipts to everyone. It was a very good skill for her to learn.
We saddled up this week and headed to the Wild West. My kids love cowboys and whats a cowboy without longhorn cattle. The kids thought the cattle drives were interesting and Little Man was intrigued by stampedes.
This was a real fun craft. I would love to modge podge it on a piece of old looking wood one day. I was fresh out of wood so I guess that won't happen yet!
We learned about some of the famous outlaws of the old west. We took pictures of my little outlaws and put them on a wanted poster.
Little Man had me add in the dead or alive on the poster. We had to make it authentic.
We are still learning about botany. This week the kids learned the differences between trees, and shrubs. What is a broad leaf and a needle.
Little Man is reading Hebrew with such ease. I am really proud of him. We are trying to get him to remember what the Hebrew words translate into in English. This will be our biggest challenge. Little Man is doing his Hebrew studies with Cap IT! Level 2
Bug is still working hard to remember her vowels in Cap IT! Level 1.
We haven't done no guided art but I figured with all the crafts we do they are getting enough of art for the time being. Not that I would like to do something more. Both kids really love to draw and pull out our many drawing books often.
