We are in Sonlight American History Part 2
Scripture Memory Verse is:
Review of previous learned scriptures.
We are in 1 Samuel.
We are reading, "Lincoln A Photbiograpy" by Russell Freedman.
We haven't done any more reading in "Across Five Aprils" by Irene Hunt. We haven't had time to read this book.
For Poetry we are reading, "The Oxford Illustrated Book of American Children's Poems" by Donald Hall.
Little Man is playing soccer in PE class. He is still doing well in karate.
Bug has had a lot of appointments the last two weeks. On top of all that she has had her regular therapy's.
We are still reading about the civil war. The focus this week has been the soldiers and what life was like in the war. Little Man enjoyed learning about the weapons and the battles. We are using an Eyewitness Book, "Batttle" by Richard Holmes.
We didn't finish some of the crafts I had planned. We did have fun doing a few of our History Pockets all at once at the end of the week.
The kids are learning about Botany. We collected leaves and had to identify them in our Tree Field guide. The books we are using are "Identify Trees & Shrubs by their Leaves" by Edward Knobel and the other book is "Peterson First Guides Trees" by George A. Petrides.
We had five different leaves.
Little Man is in Cap IT! Level 2. He is in lesson 20 and doing well with his reading Hebrew. Not only at home is he doing good but also at synagogue in class. I am real excited that he is doing his reading without having to stop and think about what sounds he needs to make. He also is no longer needing to look at his cheat sheet.

Bug is in Cap IT! Level 1. She is in the vowels. She still struggles with these and gets them mixed up. I think we will spend awhile with the vowels and reviewing some of the letters before she goes to level 2. She has the first three sounds down.
