We are in studying Biblical, Jewish, and Ancient Israel

Scripture Memory Verse:
We are learning 1 John 1:1

We are doing our biblical studies different this year. We did start the New Testament this week and will work our way through it.
We also started:

The

Mitzvos
Read out Louds

For Poetry we are reading, “To Be a Free People the Saga of Israel by Michael Bar-Zohar. This is a book of poems, songs, newspaper articles, and quotes from Israel.
Physical and Health Education
Little Man is still doing karate twice a week. Right now our weekly PE class is on hold.
We are doing an online nutrient class from Standard
Deviants Accelerate as part of a review for TOS Crew. I will tell you more
about it soon.
Therapy and Appointments
Bug had food therapy and for the first time ate wild rice. She actually didn’t give a lot of faces while eating it. We got her to eat bananas and honey and a baked potato slathered in butter. I am getting hungry.
Bug saying hi to Ella.
She had horse therapy after a few weeks off. She rode a
new horse this week named Ella. She is still going to ride Rascal from time to
time. She switched as they want her to start riding independently and are
working her up to that point. I didn’t get a chance to ask why a different
horse but, I am sure they have their reasons.
History and Geography
We are learning some of the national symbols of Israel:
National flag - Flag of Israel
National emblem - Emblem of Israel is a menorah
with olive leaves around it.
National anthem - Hatikvah
National colors - Blue and white
National bird - Hoopoe
National Flower - Anemone coronaria
National Tree - Olive
National dog - Canaan Dog
We cut out pictures and glued them in our notebook.
The kids learned the countries around Israel and glued
them into their notebook.
Language Arts and Math
Little Man wrote up a research paper on the bald eagle. He was excited when he seen them at the zoo this week. We took a couple of pictures to add to his work.
Bug is doing a review on her phonics this week. She also
has volunteered several times to read out loud. That has made me extremely
happy to see her do this.
Little Man has been reading the Blaze series and is
almost done with all of the books.
Science
I found this picture on this site.
Bug had Entomology this week and we pinned an extremely difficult insect. The Thread legged insect. She could only do so much with this insect. It took me and an extremely skilled pinner that has been pinning for over 40 years to do it. He has never pinned one before and was up to the challenge as he said, “it was one of the harder insects that he has pinned”. We did it and it looks mighty fragile.
We still have caterpillars in our butterfly garden. I have not idea what this one is.
Hebrew, Art, and Misc...
Studies
We
had two field trips this week. One was to the zoo and the other one was our
annual apple orchard that we go to yearly.
We love going to the apple orchard every year.
Bug had to see the bees..again.
Little Man goofing around with his friends.
Little
Man is doing Hebrew at the synagogue and working on vocabulary with Daddy. I
will start in a few weeks after I get settled into our new schedule.
Bug
is working on her verses in Hebrew for her upcoming Bat Mitzvah. She is now
starting to sing it. We only have 8 weeks left before her big day.
Art
has not started at this time also.
