Week in Review #11-2014-2015
November 01, 2014
We are in studying Biblical, Jewish, and Ancient
Israel history
Scripture Memory
Verse:
We are working on remembering Psalms 150.
Bible
We are doing our biblical studies different this year. We are in the Gospel of Matthew at this time.
A Child’s Bible Lessons from the Torah by Seymour
Rossel
Artscroll a Childs Introduction to the Siddur.
The Word-Wise Adventures of Yisrael and Meir Going
Global Book One: The Thirty-one Mitzvos
Read out Louds
We are reading, "Third-Grade Detectives
#1" by George E. Stanley. My kids are not enjoying this book much to my
surprise.
For Poetry we are reading, “To Be a Free People the Saga of Israel by Michael Bar-Zohar. This is a book of poems, songs, newspaper articles, and quotes from Israel.
Physical and
Health Education
Little Man didn’t have Karate this week as his Karate teachers wife went home to be with the Lord.
We are still doing a nutrition class from Standard
Deviants Accelerate. You can read my review with this link.
Therapy and
Appointments
Bug had food therapy and ate chicken and rice, salad, and another banana. I know this may sound crazy me talking about this but, having a child with special needs and extreme eating problems this is a big accomplishment that I can’t help to not share.
Bug had a follow up on occupational therapy after
almost 3 months. As we suspected she has regressed quite a bit. Due to the
insurance deny her services even after the Dr. and therapist said it was
critical and medically necessary for her to continue all therapies. Don’t know
what else to do. She will have a re-evaluation for physical therapy in December.
It will be interesting to see what happens on that end also.
Bug was back in the saddle again after a two week break. She is riding extremely well and guiding the horse independently.
History and
Geography
We are still in the Galilee in Northern Israel. We learned about the cities of Chorazin, Capernaum, Tabgha, Magdala, Tiberias, Nazareth, and Hafia.
We read about the history and some scriptures that talked about the
city. We then located them on the map, and stamped our passport. A lot of the
cities we visited so I showed the kids pictures of the ruins or modern day
city.
Language Arts
and Math
Both kids are working on trying to master their addition facts.
Overall the kids have had a great week in math and
language arts.
Science
We finally planted our herbs for our light hut. We
finished our light hut several weeks ago!
Both kids had to do some research on their herbs
that they planted. It was fun learning about each herb and what the herbs can
be used for.
Then we explored several types of seeds from trees. The kids
had fun seeing the different types of seeds and seeing if they could identify them without the name showing.
Hebrew, Art, and
Misc... Studies
We didn't any
Hebrew or art this week.
