Passport2Purity Review
July 24, 2015
Our
children’s innocence is under attack, and parents cannot win the battle with a
single awkward "birds and the bees" talk or a strict set of rules.
The Passport2Purity Getaway Kit helps build heart-to-heart communication
between you and your pre-teen while laying a foundation of purity that will
prepare them for the turbulent years ahead.
Our
kids are going up in an era that is so different from when I was growing up.
Just turning on the TV is a challenge trying to filter out all the junk. That
is just a small part of what is out there now a days. I want to teach my
children God’s purity and morals. When I read about Passport2Purity I was
intrigued by it and couldn’t wait to see it.
What
is Passport2Purity?
I
recently have been reviewing a Christian purity getaway kit that teaches purity
or in other words sex education from a Christian Worldview.
Passport2Purity
is intended kids 10-18. Also this is for
the parents and kids to work together whether it is a mother and daughter or a
father and son. I like that as usually you have to buy something specific for
your daughter and then something different for your son.
The
curriculum comes with:
8
CD’s
Tour
journal for the preteen with 25 follow up devotions
Tour
Guide for Parents
It
is broken down in 5 sessions:
Session
1 Beginning the Journey-(challenges, traps, and choices)
Session
2 Running with the Herd-(Friendship and peer pressure)
Session
3 Ready for an Upgrade-(Changes in him/Changes in her)
Session
4 Destination: LE Pure-(Setting Boundaries)
Session
5 Crossing the Date Line-(Seeing Dating Differently)
It
is recommended that the curriculum be used over a weekend away from home as
they may be more comfortable and less distracted if you’re away from home.
This
is a well thought out and heartfelt curriculum. One feature that I like in the
parent guide is that it shows the pages in the student journal. The parent
guide also provides your questions to ask your child to open up a conversation.
The questions are heartfelt and very useful. Inside the curriculum is a
checklist for items you need to prepare for the lessons. You can also purchase a project kit.
It’s
Biblicaly based and does an amazing job explaining that the Bible is the one
book we should go to. It doesn’t shy away from those hard topics like
homosexuality, sex, peer pressure, maintaining purity, masturbating,
pornography, and other hard topics to talk about.
I
personally would have loved the CD’s to be DVD’s or to have an option to buy
which media you prefer. Then again that my just be me liking the DVD option.
After reviewing the content I didn't feel my daughter was ready for these topics. Even though she is 12. With her special needs she is not mature enough for the contents. I look forward to doing this with her in the future.
You can receive 25% off the getaway kit
by using the promo code PASSPORT on their website. This promo code is
good through 8/31/15.
