My Thoughts:
This is an interesting devotional and should appeal to boys and girls alike. It doesn’t have the full Bible but more the popular stories that you would expect in a kids Bible or devotional. The cover is a hardback book with full colored graphics on every page. This is the same as the Bibleforce Bible if you have seen that already. Each story highlights an amazing person that followed God in the Bible.
There is a Table of Contents at the beginning of the devotional with the page number and is divided by Old Testament and New Testament. There is also a brief introduction explaining the sections in the devotional.
The layout is the same with each devotional. Here are just a few of the nuggets in this devotional.
Fun Facts-this will give you some interesting information about the Bible story or the hero. It might tell you how God used them or where they lived or some inspiring information.
Hero Training-This is going above and beyond to help apply the words to your own life. It may give you other scriptures to look up in the Bible. It’s to help you train you spiritual and faith muscles as the devotional calls it.
Be a Hero!-Put your faith in action. This gives you some suggestions to live out your faith with what you are learning. There are ideas, activities, and suggested everyday ways to put your faith in action.
Each of the devotional are on two pages. The Bible devotional is written in graphic comic layout. The illustrations are well done and will surely capture the reader’s attention.
The back of the devotion has a time line, “What Happened When?” starting with creation to the book of Revelation. There is also a full colored map of “The World of the Bible.”
The Bible stories are short and are missing a lot of information. I would not recommend this as the only Bible reading kids get everyday but more of a supplement.
Overall if it gets a kid interested in reading the Word then I think that is a great start or even if they are just reading this as it's attended as a devotional with daily Bible readings.
