We are in Sonlight American History
Part 2
This week we managed to do school while in several waiting rooms. We accomplished quite a bit this week. Today we are taking another breather after a busy week. We are going to run a few errands and clean up the house.
We are in the book of 1 Kings.
We finished reading "You wouldn't want to Be A Nurse During the American Civil War!” by Kathryn Senior.
This week we have been learning about Abraham Lincoln's life. The kids are really enjoying learning about Lincoln's life.
Little Man was pretty excited when we received Cap IT! Learn to read Hebrew.
How exciting -how many Hebrew programs do you know that come with a box of toys! I am even excited with a box of toys.
Scripture Memory verse is:

Bible
We are in the book of 1 Kings.
Read-Out- Louds
We finished reading "You wouldn't want to Be A Nurse During the American Civil War!” by Kathryn Senior.
We are reading, "Lincoln A Photobiograpy" by Russell Freedman.
We started reading "Across Five Aprils" by Irene Hunt
For Poetry we
are reading,"The Oxford Illustrated Book of American Children's
Poems" by Donald Hall.
Physical and Health Education
Little Man
played Rugby this week during PE. He also did Karate this week.
You are not seeing things. This is Little Man on a horse. They surprised him by offering to give him a ride around the barn. He was excited to ride Honey Bee.
He didn't care that he had to wear a pink helmet that came off of Bug's head.
History and Geography
We also talked about the difference between the Union and Confederacy. It was a History Pocket project.
Language Arts and Math
Little Man is learning how to write a story. The steps leading up to the process of preparing to put it together. His topic was, "buying candy in the waiting room while getting our van fixed." I had to chuckle but, I have to say that he is making it pretty interesting!
Little Man is reciting his math facts upside down. He likes motion when he is reciting them. It distracts me like crazy but it works for him. I won't complain since he remembering his facts.
Bug prefers the more settle approach of doing her math facts.
Science
This week in science we are learning about different habitats. The focus was around our community. Of course Little Man added all of the waiting rooms as a habitat. Sigh!
Hebrew, Art, and Misc. Studies
How exciting -how many Hebrew programs do you know that come with a box of toys! I am even excited with a box of toys.
I let the kids explore the kit a bit.
Bug is still working on Cap IT! Level 1.
