Latkes for Hanukkah Recipe

Hanukkah is just around the corner and a traditional food of Hanukkah is Latkes, which basically is a potato pancake that is fried in oil and you can top with just about anything!

Ingredients:
  • 2 potatoes peeled
  • 1 small onion peeled
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp. milk
  • 2 tbsp. melted butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • black pepper
  • Oil for frying( or butter)
  • sour cream, apple sauce, our your favorite
Directions:
Grate potatoes and onions. In another bowl add eggs, milk and melted butter and blend together. Next add flour, salt and pepper. Pour over potatoes and onions and stir to mix. Drop by quarter cupfuls on a prepared griddle or skillet. Spread to make a 4" pancake. Cook until brown on both sides, turning often. Serve with sour cream, apple sauce, or any other favorite.

I like to add different types of condiments like smoked salmon in cream cheese. Or I have had pear sauce, picante sauce, and what are potatoes without ketchup.

If you have any favorites I love to hear it and share the recipe with me.
