Classroom Friendly Supplies Pencil Sharpener Review and Giveaway
August 31, 2016
Once upon
a time somewhere on the Great Plains there was a homeschool mamma who was
extremely frustrated with the constant grind and broken pencil points with an
electric pencil sharper from her two children. After failed results of the constant
grinding noise and broken lead with a manual sharpener and several electric
sharpeners. She searched long and wide on the world wide net. Alias she found
the answer to her quest!
I know a
bit dramatic but, finding a good pencil sharpener is frustrating. There is
nothing worse than just sharpening your pencil and the lead breaks out of the
wood on first contact of your paper. My quest led me to Classroom Friendly Supplies. I was excited to be able to review their Popular Purple Pencil
Sharpener.
Classroom Friendly Supplies
is a company created by an elementary teacher, Troy who was fed up with pencil
sharpeners. I am so glad to hear that I am not the only person who takes their
pencil sharpeners seriously!
Let me
tell you about this pencil sharpener.
*It’s a
quite sharpener.
*It has an
unique automatic stop to prevent over sharpening.
*Works on
standard size pencils and colored pencils.
*It can be
mounted (clamp included) or portable for ease of use.
*It’s
extremely easy to use for all ages.
*5 Colors
to choose from.
*Easy to
remove clear plastic tray for cleaning.
*Extremely
cost efficient.
*It has a
fun old-school retro look
*They
offer a permanent mount that you can purchase separately.
They also have blade replacements in the
future if you need to replace the blade. If you need a large hole sharpener for pencils
they have a sharpener for that also.
You start of by squeezing the black levers on top of the
sharpener. When squeezing you pull out the silver front of the sharpener. It’s
not complicated at all I promise you!
Once you pull out the front you squeeze the black levers
again to insert your pencil in the hole. Let go of the levers. Your pencil will
be held in place tightly. You do not need to hold your pencil when operating
the sharpener.
Start turning the sharpener lever while holding your hand on
top for support if it’s not mounted on a surface. You will actually fill the
difference while turning the lever once the pencil is sharpened with the
automatic stop.
Squeeze the black levers on top of the sharpener again to
remove the pencil.
Our sad drawing pencils before we sharpened them.
The only thing I have noticed is that on softer tips like
certain colored pencils the tip is perfect but, the tip tends to break easier. The breakage is not a result of sharpening but, the softer material.
Look at those perfectly sharpened pencils. A sight to behold. No excuses from my children to do school work.
The mount attaches to your desk or table easily you just attach the mount in the back hole of the sharpener. My family prefers the sharpened not attached. You can find out more about mounting your sharpener here.
The pencil shavings are not a fine shavings that end up everywhere.
What happens if you need to remove lead from the blades? It's easy to fix the problem. Follow the link to find out more information.
What would I change?
I want to see a rainbow at the end
of my pot of gold. I want to be able to order a three pack with different colors
at the discounted price. I want my kids to have their own color so there is no
one saying, “That’s my sharpener”! Then mom can jump in and say, “Your
sharpener is purple and his is green”. Give me a rainbow in my classroom. Not bad for complaints if I can't name anything I dislike or want changed with the product.
I am really pleased with the quality of this pencil
sharpener. I love having perfectly sharpened pencils that is done quietly and
easy.
Now for the giveaway!
Classroom Friendly Supplies is offering my readers not one but two pencil sharpeners. The color I am offering is the Popular Purple for my readers. Did I mention purple is my favorite color!

I've dreamed of one of these for a long time! I love that it automatically stops when the pencil is sharp. Purple would be my color choice!
ReplyDeleteThe car sharpener is ADORABLE!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance.
My daughter loves the purple one but I like the green one. I love that it isn't as loud as the one we currently use and the way children can tell it is sharpened.
ReplyDeleteI really like that they are donating a portion of each sale to a school in a developing country.
ReplyDeleteThe purple is a really cool color. Normally I would say I like the green the best, but the purple would make it harder to lose it in the room! :)
I love that they work with charity!
ReplyDeleteA quiet sharpener? Yes, please! I like the purple and it sure would make my youngest happy as that is her favorite color. - Lori
ReplyDeleteI am posting this comment for a reader who for some unknown reason the comments are not letting her publish it.
ReplyDeleteSheryce D.
I like that the company supports the charity pencils of promise who help build schools in developing countries. I have my eye on the 5 in 1 laser, I could really get some use out of that. Also, my favorite colors are pink and purple so either one are awesome to me.
I like the firehouse red one the best. :-) I think it's pretty neat that the company contributes to building schools in developing countries.
ReplyDeleteThis sharpener has been around for 10 years and is now in over 2,500 school districts...WHY HAVE I NOT KNOWN ABOUT THIS lol. I also love how the website has a how to section with step by step and videos to help..makes it simple. As an artist and a home school mom a good sharpener is a must! I love the car sharpener, it is so cute! stinks that the replacement blades don't fit though but it is still cute. I also love the 5 in 1 laser pointer....but I would probably use it for the cats HAHAHA. While I do like the color purple, my favorite one is the cool blue color.
