My
Thoughts:
Thomas
Nelson has come out with a beautiful line of large print Thinline Bible. They
have several cover options to choose from and are available in both the KJV and
NKJV. I have the KJV.
This
is a hardcover Bible that is around 9 ½” X 6 ½” and weights less than 2#. The
cover is covered in an elegant cloth of turquoise with light blue leaves. It’s
very pretty.
The
Bible has a presentation page for gifting or for writing your information on
it. The first page has the contents with
the books of the Bible and the page you can turn to. The Bible lays out flat
without having to force it to stay in place. I like the laying out flat feature
due to the ease of adding my own notes while studying.
Included
are two turquoise ribbon markers. I love that I can mark my reading spots in
both the Old and New Testament without having to deal with loose bookmarks
falling out.
The font is in the Thomas Nelson KJV font that
is a 10 point font. It’s a nice size for reading. I love the easy to read size
and font. The page thickness is a typical Bible page. I suspect that some
highlighters will bleed through to the other side.
There
isn’t an introduction to the Bible books. This is not a study Bible and has not
foot notes or references to other scriptures. The margins are a fairly decent
size to add your own notes. The words of Jesus are in read.
Included
in the back of the Bible is a, “One Year Reading Plan” that is broken down by
months and days. Another reading resource is “30 Days With Jesus” that covers
30 scriptures from the Gospels.
The
Bible has 8 full colored maps in the back.
This
is a wonderful size for a full Bible. I love the font size. Sometimes I don’t
want a Study Bible to distract me while I’m reading the Word myself. This is a
no frill straight forward Bible. It would make a perfect gift for someone
special.
