NIV Kids Visual Study Bible Review
June 01, 2017
The
NIV Kids’ Visual Study Bible, for ages 8–12, brings the Bible to life in
four-color illustrated splendor. This study Bible includes a spectacular
full-color interior featuring over 700 illustrations, photos, infographics, and
maps on every page that visually represent key Bible information. Each page
also features important facts located near the relevant verse. Intriguing
facts; colorful, engaging maps; photographs; and illustrations make this a
Bible they’ll want to explore.
Features:
- Over 700 four-color photographs, illustrations, infographics, and maps throughout
- Full-color design
- Book introductions, including important facts and an image to orient the reader
- One-column format with side bar study notes for ease of reading
- Presentation page
- The complete text of the New International Version (NIV) translation of the Bible
- Beautiful cover featuring gloss
My Thoughts:
What
a nice Bible for kids that is recommended for ages 8-12. I think older teens
would like this Bible also. This Bible is a great way to teach your
kids how to study God’s word. It’s full
of some great resources.
This is hardback Bible with 1,936 pages. The
pages are a nice quality. I suspect some medians will bleed through if you are
highlighting passages. I would use the highlighters that they sell for using with
Bibles. The font size is reasonable for the age range it’s intended for. There is
also an attached ribbon bookmark.
The Bible has a nicer presentation page for
gifting or for writing your name in. The Bible is full color with a nice array
of photographs and illustrations. The edge of the Bible has a full band of
yellow on the edge on every page. This is where the study notes are located. It
is very spacious area to write notes or add scripture references.
Each book of the Bible has an introduction page.
What I thought was unique about this introduction page is how it explained.
Why Was This Book Written
What Do We Learn About God in This Book?
Where Did This Happen?
Who Are the Key People in This Book?
What Are Some of the Stories in This Book?
The information in this kids study Bible is
amazing. To date this is my favorite Bible I have seen for this age range. It’s
just a rich throve of treasures waiting to be discovered. Some features I like
are the maps included within the passages, the archeology information, LifeLine
Timelines of individuals, graphs, charts, photographs of the places mentioned
throughout the Bible. It is just full of facts and information. At the same
time the pages aren’t overwhelmingly busy. It’s a well put together Bible.
The back of the Bible has your Table of Weights
and Measures, Infographics Index, Map Index, and 10 full colored maps.
I
really love this Bible and highly recommend it.
