The Wiersbe Study Bible Review
March 05, 2019
My Thoughts:
Do you remember the radio show “Back to the Bible” with Warren Wiersbe? I remember listening to it as a kid and other times in my life while in the car. I can’t recall listening to him anytime recently and I’m not even sure if they still broadcast his sermons anymore.
This is a nice classy looking Bible. I love the Leathersoft™ on Bibles. I like the texture and the way it look. The Bible I have is black with a blue thin stitch on the edges. It has the silver gilding on the edges of the pages. It comes with two bookmarks both a blue and black ribbon.
The pages seem to be thicker than your average pages in the Bible. There is blue and gray color theme throughout the pages. The words of Jesus are in red. The Bible lays out flat nicely. The font is a nice 10.5 point NKJV Comfort Print.
Each book of the Bible has an introduction page that gives you a brief Key Theme of what the book is about. It also highlights some Key Verses within the book. There is a outline of key parts in the book. A Book Overview of the book. The last section in the Introduction is the Be Transformed which is a Warren Wiersbe brief blurb on the book and how that part can be life changing in God’s word.
Throughout the Bible you will have gray boxes which are called Catalyst throughout which are notes/sermons that help you dig deeper in a certain portion to help you be motivated to change your character to point out the Biblical theme being emphasized. There are hundreds of them. I have looked over several and I don’t see anything wrong with what I have observed.
This is a Study Bible and in the footnotes you have commentary and several scripture references.
The concordance has key words and the largest concordance I have seen in any Bible recently.
There is also a Preaching Index that is broken up by books and scripture address. Then at the back are your full colored maps.
This is a nice Study Bible for you to dig into with all the study options. Like with any Bible I like to say that the Study notes are man’s commentary so search the scriptures yourself too. Don’t take the study notes to be scripture. Like I mentioned nothing I seen I felt was weird or didn’t disagree with.
