The Simply KOSHER Cookbook is a unique kosher cookbook with simple and practical recipes for today’s busy family.
I was surprised to open the pages and have a realistic view on having a kosher kitchen. The laws kashrut seems really daunting when it wasn’t something you didn't grow up with. Nina breaks down from restaurants to today’s modern cooking to fit any diet or food restrictions you may have due to allergies.
She has some pretty simple pantry and fridge staples that can be found in any store today. I love that she makes it simple. She also covers some very realistic equipment, and organizational tips. What about larger appliance purchases? Do you really need two stand mixer?
The chapters are broken up by content. One chapter is dedicated to no cook recipes, 30 Minute meals, 5 Ingredients meals, One-Pot meals, Slow Cooker & Pressure Cooker, and Bakery recipes. The last chapter is Stable recipes like for marinades, sauces, frostings, and dressings.
The back of the book has an appendix for holiday recipes menu with the pages in the book for easy ideas for Shabbat, Rosh Hashanah, and a few others.
The book also has a section for Kosher Symbols and a link to a website for them is included.
Now for the most important part in any cookbook is the recipes-right? They all have easy to follow recipes and the few that I have tried are wonderful. Chocolate Cinnamon Bread Pudding and the Strawberry Crumb Cupcakes are wonderful. I have tried a few of the chicken recipes too.
The only photos are the cover photos for each chapter for the recipes. I personally like cookbooks that have photos as they are more appealing to the eyes. Not a deal breaker for me in this cookbook because it is such a well done and practical cookbook with everyday recipes.
