Only You Can Be You! What Makes You Different Makes You Great! by Nathan and Sally Clarksons Book Review & Giveaway

Some kids like to dance and laugh out loud, and some sit quietly and make up stories in their heads—but we're all different, and that's okay because the maker of everything made us this way!

In their first picture book, bestselling author Sally Clarkson and her son Nathan encourage children on the journey to discovering their strengths. Mother and son duo draw on themes from their first book, Different, the emotive story of Nathan's experiences growing up with mental illness and learning disabilities and Sally's journey to loving him unconditionally. With the powerful truth that what makes you different makes you great, Only You Can Be You will help children embrace their differences and celebrate the differences in others.

The irresistible rhymes paired with Tim Warnes's whimsical illustrations encourage your children with the reassurance they're looking for in their own uniqueness. Whether they are quiet or artistic, funny or boisterous, your children will love this heartwarming read that assures them that they're wonderful exactly as they are.

My Thoughts:

What an incredible cute book for children. This hardback book is for ages 4-8.

This book has a lovely message for kids to see that God made each person different. I love the colorful whimsical illustrations throughout the book. The animals and children concept it adorable and catches your eyes and imagination. I love children’s books with good colorful illustrations that you can explore with your kids.

The message it much needed for kids today showing a variety of   personalities, looks, and likes are vast in this story. The story is told in a  cute rhyme throughout the story. One page talks about how one kid loves to build forts while another kid prefers to dream in the stories you read. Some kids are artistic and carefree while another kid is organized, tidy, and clean. It also touches on some kids are tall, short, loud, shy, big, slight, and some kids are light, and others are dark. The book has a wonderful message pointing out how God made us all perfect and unique. The last page says, “Everyone’s different, and that’s okay. The Maker of everything made us that way.”

As a mom with a child with special needs I love the author’s message having a child with disabilities herself. A much needed message with kids getting bullied over the slightest things. Our kids need to hear that they are unique and God loves them just the way they are. The cute story touched my heart.
