Her Reluctant Amish Heart by Pamela Desmond Wright Book Review

 

Another heartfelt story from author Pamela Desmond Wright. It starts out with some really bad choices that could have had a different outcome. Throughout the story there is a thread of hope during difficult times. A reminder that no matter how bad things look that God is still in control if we will hand over the reins to Him and let Him lead us.

Anika and her family are still hanging on by a thread after an accident that left her mother and brother dead. Especially Anika as she is struggling the most in every area of her life. Her father is confined to a wheelchair. She is drowning in her responsibilities. Then to make things worse her younger brother Nathan is in an accident that left him with a broken leg and unable to pull his weight around the farm.

Elam left his Amish community a long time ago to pursue fast cars and the dream of having his own garage. He made a bad choice one night when he is challenged to a street race. Nathan was injured in that choice. By the grace of God the judge the bishop assign him to community service to assist Anika and family at the farm and other responsibilities in the Amish community.

As Anika and Elam start working together it is clear to Anika that Elam is a genuine good man that cares about people and is remorseful at what his action has brought to her family.

The journey leads down a road that two people are at a crossroad. They both deeply care for each other. They have to let go of doubt and fear. Take a leap of faith.

This is truly a beautiful story that will leave you satisfied to the last page.
