Hanukkah Day Three
December 22, 2011
Tonight you will light three candles on the Hanukkah Menorah using the servant candle or Shamash candle when the sun goes down. Remember to put the candles in from right to left (like reading Hebrew) and them after you light the Shamash you light the others from left to right. The Hanukkah Menorah is usually lit by the window.
1st Blessing~Hebrew (Sepharidc/Modern Israeli): Baruch atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech Ha-Olam, asher kiddeshanu b’mitzvotav, vitzivanu, lehadlik ner shel Hanukkah.
English: Blessed are You, Lord our God, Ruler of the universe, who has sanctified us with Your commandments, and has commanded us to kindle the lights of Hanukkah.
2nd Blesssing~Hebrew (Sepharidc/Modern Israeli): Baruch atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech Ha-Olam, she-asah nissim la-avotaynu bayamim ha-hem bazman hazeh.
English: Blessed are you, Lord our God, Ruler of the universe, who wrought miracles for our fathers in days of old, at this season.
