I'm Back from Israel
June 17, 2013
I am back from an amazing vacation. We went to Israel for 17 days. Unfortunately the kids weren't able to go with us. I would of loved it if they could of went to Israel with us. It would of been a hard trip for Bug.The grandparents watched the kids and they had a great time with the grandparents.
This trip was a huge blessing. The trip was planned around two years ago with our congregation. At first it was suppose to be just Jeff going to Israel. Someone offered to pay his way and wouldn't take no for an answer. I was really excited for him to have such an amazing opportunity to go to Israel. I told him not to worry about me.
I didn't think anyone would be willing to watch the kids for that long. Especially with Bug and all her medical needs and well- she is high maintenance. Then the cost of it was way beyond something we could afford. My husband really wanted me to go and of course I wanted to go also. We put it before the Lord in prayer and said nothing to another person about my desire to go to Israel. Even after we prayed I was content with whether I went or not.
Around a year passed after our prayer-then our answer came- my in-laws offered to pay my way and to watch the kids. They believed that I needed a respite from all the stress of having a child with special needs and felt that going to Israel with be very beneficial to me in many ways. They even sent us off with spending money.
I am truly grateful for the time I got to spend in Israel. I missed the kids like crazy and couldn't wait to get home to hug and kiss them. It was what I needed. I will post some pictures later and a few thoughts on being in the land.
