Brave Girls Better Than Perfect by Jennifer Gerelds
April 06, 2015
Better
than perfect-that's what every girl is in God's eyes.
A young girl's doubt in her own
self-worth starts from an early age. Am I pretty enough? Am I smart enough?
Will I fit in? Do people like me? Am I worthy enough? These aren't questions
asked by teens, but from precious girls in grade school! Brave Girls Faith and
Honor will help girls navigate these questions and learn just how wonderful
they are!
In this Brave Girls devotional, 90
engaging devotions will help young girls find their place in the world and
learn that the beauty of their imperfections is what makes them unique, loved,
precious, and "better than perfect" in God's eyes. Eac devotion includes:
A relevant opening scripture from the
Bible
A thought-provoking devotion to build a
young girl's spirit
An engaging closing prayer to help the
reader navigate her day!
My Thoughts:
Brave Girls Better than Perfect, says it’s
a 90 devotional that covers different topics and is recommended for ages 7-pre-teens.
Actually, there are only 86 devotionals along with the introductions.
The chapters are:
Truth Detectives
Bible Beauty and Beaus
Divine Design
Body Builders
Character Quest
Mind Games
This is a paperback book with 136 pages. The devotions start out
with a scripture verse, and a short narrative about the topic discussed. Then it
concludes with a short prayer pointer.
Some
devotions have a short area that you can write answers down. Also, there are some crossword puzzles, different
activities. The devotions are easy to read and to the point.
I have been reading this to my 12 year
old daughter who has several disabilities. This could be easily read by your daughter
by herself or you could read it together. My daughter and I have enjoyed our time
reading the devotions at night time.
This has been a wonderful devotional to read with my daughter. I would recommend this and look forward to other titles in this series.
