The Chronological Study Bible, NKJV – Book Review
May 19, 2016
Do you prefer Bibles with a rich variety of resources, including contextual notes, articles and full-color graphics that help immerse you in the history and culture of Biblical times?
If so, you are going to love The Chronological Study Bible, NKJV, which is also the only New King James Version study Bible that contains the text of the Bible arranged in chronological order!
My Thoughts:
It has always
intrigued me being able to read the Bible in chronological order. I was pretty
excited to explore this Bible.
Wow, this is a
nice Bible. The cover is gorgeous Leathersoft in a two tone blue and stone
color (other colors available). The pages and I mean all the pages are full
colored in an earthy parchment look. The pages are very settle in appearance as
it doesn’t distract from the word as it’s very tasteful and not overwhelming. The
pictures are full colored. Nice silver edging on the outside of the pages.
Features:
*The Chronological
Bible is written in the NKJV and every verse is located in the nine epochs of
time.
*Transition
Commentary explains the placement of the chronological placement in the Bible.
*Epoch Instructions
which is basically a period of time of historical events.
*Historical
overviews that provide you with information of the changing times from the
beginning till the end times.
*Background
Notes will give you a view of the customs, cultures, religion, literature,
politics, and location. This was one of my favorite features.
*Daily Life will
give you a glimpse into the people, and their customs in all area of life.
*Time Panels to
help you grasp the passage of time on important topics of the Bible.
*Time Capsules provide
dates of important occasions inside and outside of the Biblical text.
*Time Charts
organizing your study. This is a visual overview of important chronological topics
in the Bible.
*Maps are
located within the text and in the back of the Bible. All the maps are full
color.
*Scripture References
are located at the top of each page.
*Cultural and
Historical Topics of the people, culture, their worship practices, jobs, literature
of the time, rulers, nations, and much more.
* Glossary is
located at the back of the Bible with brief description.
*Concordance and
Index of Scripture Passage a full 195 page with page numbers for all the
passages in chronological order.
*Daily and a two
year Bible reading schedule.
*Also a ribbon
bookmark to keep your place.
I would
recommend that you read the first part with all the information before you dive
into the Bible to help you understand the layout in the Bible.
This is an
extremely nice Bible. I have enjoyed studying God’s Word with this. I wouldn’t
take this to service or a Bible Study personally. I would be lost trying to find certain passages
as it’s not in the same format as a traditional Bible. Other than that I
am very impressed with the features.
I want to thank
Thomas Nelson for offering such a nice Bible for review.
