A Woman Overwhelmed by Hayley DiMarco Book Review
October 17, 2017
"A
Woman Overwhelmed" is a phrase with which many women can relate. But what
would happen if we could see the insanity in our pace and embrace our
overwhelming God?
In A Woman Overwhelmed, best-selling author Hayley DiMarco shares biblical insights and personal stories to offer a glimpse at the comedy of an overwhelmed life while encouraging us to discover the depths and heights of God’s love and power.
Be empowered to find freedom in becoming overwhelmed with who God is—by learning to focus on what we know about God so that we can hold onto faith even when it seems that all is lost. For it is when an overwhelmed woman gives up the mission of me and exchanges it for the mission of God that being overwhelmed becomes a good thing.
Choose to bask in the abundance of the Father instead of the abundance of life as his unfathomable depths can surely replace our fathomable messes.
My Thoughts:
I’m not much of
a nonfiction or self help book gal as they tend to take me longer to read and I usually have
to study them a lot more. I have to say that the title caught my attentions. A Woman Overwhelmed-yea
that’s me I’m a stay at home mom, a homeschool mamma, involved in ministry, and
I have a 14 year old special needs daughter. I often wonder how I did what I
did when I worked full time. It just seems like I’m running non-stop now a
days.
I
had to laugh at some of the author’s stories as I can relate to some of them. I
have to confess that it makes me feel normal knowing I’m overwhelmed at times.
I
love the Biblical truths she shares. This is not a flashy step by step program
it’s from the heart. Hayley DiMarco comes across as sincere in this book. It’s
real and down to earth and practical.
With chapter
like these how can you not relate?
*So Much To Do,
So Little Time
*What I Can’t
Control Controls Me
*Overwhelmed by
God
That’s just a
few of the chapters but, within those chapters you have topics like:
*The World Can’t
Handle My Ninja-like Speed
*I’m What Experts
Call Weird
*The Glass is
Half-Full(Of Toxins)
You get the
point. This was an easy and heartfelt read that didn’t leave me feeling
overwhelmed or feeling like a failure.
