Easy
to Read. Easy to Carry.
With
a new, easy-to-read typeface, the NIV Thinline Bible invites you to
linger over, engage with, and deeply explore God’s Word. Expertly designed for
the New International Version (NIV) text, Comfort Print® delivers a smooth
reading experience that complements the most widely read contemporary-English
Bible translation. Measuring less than an inch thick, it is the perfect
on-the-go Bible to take to church, your Bible study group, work, or travel.
Features:
- The full text of the accurate, readable, and clear New International Version (NIV) translation
- Easy-to-read
- 9.4-point print size exclusive Zondervan NIV Comfort Print® typeface
- Less than one inch thick
- Words of Jesus in red
- Double-column format
- Presentation page
- Two satin ribbon markers
- Indexed edition
My Thoughts:
It’s about time I come across a small Bible I
can carry around that I can read! The font is the Zondervan NIV Comfort
Print® typeface. Honestly that part looks the same to me. What I notice for
this size of Bible is that the 9.4 point print size!
This
is a beautiful black bonded leather cover. Nothing fancy on the cover. The
Bible has your basic presentation page for gifting or to put your name in it in
case you leave it on the pew at church it may find its way back to you.
The
Bible is a nice size for a bag or purse at 9 ½” x 6 ½” and weights slightly
over a pound. There is approximately 1,088 pages in this Bible. The pages have
the silver gilding. Overall the pages are your basic thickness that is common
in most Bibles. Some highlighters and pens will bleed through or leave a shadow
on the opposite page. The pages are laid out in two column format.
I
love that many Bible today come equipped with 2 ribbon bookmarks. The ribbons
are a different color with a burgundy and black color ribbon.
Another
feature that I love is that the Bible is in the Lay-Flat format. I like it when
I can have my Bible open and it not closing shut on me!
There
is a Table of Contents both in the order of the Bible and an alphabetical order
of the books of the Bible. This Bible also has a thumb index. I love the tab
feature in a thinline Bible. A basic introduction about the Bible and
translation is at the front of the Bible.
There
isn’t an introduction at the beginning of the books of the Bible. I didn’t
expect and introduction in a thinline Bible. The words of my Lord and Savior
are in red. The last page in the Bible you have your Table of Weights and
Measures.
The
only thing I wish that this Bible would have includes is the maps. This is a
nice Bible to carry with you everywhere.
