Little Homeschool on the Prairie: Silk Plants Direct Review

I love plants and the color and warmth they bring to a home whether outside or inside. The reality is that nowadays I don’t have the time to care for them. With 2 kids, 4 animals, homeschooling, a daughter with special needs, and a very hectic schedule I don’t have much time to devout to plants anymore. I have a few that I forget about often.

Recently, I received a plant from Silk Plants Direct. It’s an outdoor Grass-Lavender Green- and I intended on putting it outdoor except I have a coffee table that has been looking bare ever since my kitty decided to destroy the plants and dig up my terrarium that has lived a happy life for many years until it had a kitty disaster. Eventually it will end up outdoors. Before- I was introduced to Silk Plants Direct I wouldn’t have considered another plant on my coffee table. My kitty can’t eat, climb, or dig up a silk plant.

Grass-Lavendar Green comes in a container that is in a resin pot to withstand the outdoor elements. The container is an earthy charcoal color with a lion head on two sides. The container itself has a lot of details and colors. The container is molded and has a nice form to it.

The plant arrangement is 13” height and approximately 5”x5” width. Looks very realistic with the two varieties of grasses on the outside of the boarder. One of the grasses has a two toned green-burgundy color. The inside of the floral display has the lavender plant that is also a multi colored with soft green and pink color. The texture is different on the flowers also as they actually feel softer. The floral arrangement is held in place by foam and it’s in there really good. I don’t have to worry about it coming out in the Kansas wind. The best part is that it doesn’t require any watering and its kitty safe. I could run the plant under water to clean it or spray it with water.

We bought an old house with no curb appeal a few years ago and I would love to dress up my dreary front entrance sometime with a topiary and a wreath as that particular area needs some TLC.
