Smart Kidz Radio Review

Smart Kidz Media has a brand new Smart Kidz Radio for your “edutainment.” Smart Kidz Radio was created with kids at the heart of it. This is a free online streaming radio station full of entertainment.

Smart Kidz Radio is kid friendly without any surprises of bad content slipping in. I personally don’t know of any radio stations that are 100% kid friendly.

All you need to do is to create a sign in to access the Smart Kidz Radio. After you have created an account you are ready to go. It’s that simple! You can stream through your computer or as an app on your phone or tablet.

The live stream radio plays a variety of music in different genre. Some of the songs are more upbeat while other songs are slower. I noticed a variety of instruments also. I usually listened to Smart Kidz Radio in the evening. I noticed that I heard several songs prior. Which I think it is typical of any radio station to replay songs in a certain time period. I assuming that may be the case here.

They also have a place that you can request a particular song. I noticed all the songs are educational and age appropriate. I listened to songs about bedtime, not getting angry, talking things out, and other themes throughout.

I kept thinking that this would be a good radio station for a child with Autism or other disabilities too. It had a lot of behavioral songs and songs on feelings. Having a child with Autism I think she would have really liked this when she was little and it would have been helpful for her on many topics.

There is much more than just music. They have podcast which has some favorite classical stories like Alice in Wonderland, Treasure –Island, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, and other classical treasures for your kiddos to enjoy. I did notice that they are a bit different that the traditional versions.

This is not a Christian Worldview radio station. There isn’t any language or sexual content. I did notice a few songs about magic. Just a heads up for you.

There is an option for an On-Demand membership which will still give you access to the live stream radio and podcast. With an On-Demand membership you can customize it to fit your child’s age range. If I understand it correctly you can download the programs and listen to it without internet. You can sign up for a 14 Day Free Trial. With the membership you will get:

Song Programming
  • Early Learning Radio Program (Ages 2 – 4)
  • Good Behavior Skills Radio Program (Ages 3 – 6)
  • Living Skills Radio Program (Ages 4 – 10)
  • Survival Skills to Grow On Radio Program (Ages 6 – 10)
  • Bedtime Songs Radio Program (Ages 2 – 8)
  • All-Time Favorites Sing Along Songs Radio Program (Ages 4 – 10)
  • Relaxation from Stress Radio Program (Ages 4 – 10)
  • Favorite Christmas Carols and Songs (All ages)
Story Programming
  • Classic Fairy Tales
  • Not So Scary Tales
  • Grandpa Tyler’s Storytime
  • Best Loved Bible Stories
  • Favorite Christmas Stories
  • Peter Rabbit Tales

This is a great option if you have younger kids. My kids are teens so I went over the material myself. Occasionally one of my kids heard a   fairy tale from when they were little and would comment on it. I honestly haven't heard any of the songs prior to this.
