Review: Brinkman Adventures Season 6

I’m excited to tell you about the newest Brinkman Adventures and their Season 6: Underground Rising, Digital version.
I was introduced to the Brinkman Adventures and their Season 3 a few years back. Since then my family and I have been huge fans of these wholesome audio drama and have purchased several seasons.
We love listening to these stories while at home and on the road. They are great stories to snuggle together for devotional time. The stories bring on a lot of conversation about God and missions.
Brinkman Adventures and their Season 6: Underground Rising is also available as a physical CD. For the Digital Version it was in the form of a Zipped- File. I needed to extract the files first before we could listen to the story.  Afterwards, you can put it on other devices. I decided to just keep it on the computer for now so we could listen to the story at home.
Just a heads up as some of the context is around the events of World War II and may need to be previewed first if you have younger children or those that are a bit more sensitive.
Something new is that the Brinkmans Adventures have changed their episode structure to 2 ½ from their 5+ hours. They will release the other half later.

Each episode is around 25 minutes in duration.

55 - Dutch Underground Part 1: This episode is based on the true story. Two girls hear about a story of their grandparents during World War 2.  They begin by stealing ration cards to help those that are being persecuted in the Dutch Underground. They start out pretty small with the ration cards. After awhile they get bolder by stealing a car in which they get caught in the act. My son loved how the action built up in the story from the men starting out with little things and building up to more daring activities. They still ran after the Nazi's seen them. They didn't give up real easy.

56 - Dutch Underground Part 2: Lynn tells about her experience in jail. My kids had a laugh with this story and thought that she did a good job driving her jailer crazy. They dodge bullets while speeding through a German checkpoint. They help a Jewish neighbor hide in haystacks until they can get them to safety. The kids thought that Lynn did a good job with eating paper, and saying the things she did to her jailer. I would be afraid that I would get killed right away doing that. The men are real brave driving through a check point with guns and getting shot at. They are also quick thinkers watching the tree on the side of the road while he has his seat down so he won't go off the road.

57 - Twice Born Fly:  Ian has a dream while serving at Alaska Bible Institute in Homer, Alaska. We get reacquainted with some past stories in other series. Of course my entomologist daughter loved this story the most due to it had a funny story about an insect in it. I saw the beautiful story of my Savior and not having fear with death. My family had a wonderful conversation about this topic.

58 - I Wonder Why: A true story of the Wonder family. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to leave your home, friends, and your belongings to serve with your family in the mission fields in an orphanage in India and on top of that the orphanages aren’t even that nice. Jesus changes all things. What a touching and heartfelt story. This was my favorite story out of all of them. I loved them all but, this one spoke to me.

59 - Free Burma Rangers Part 1: Based off the true story of Dave Eubank and his life from boyhood to a Green Beret in the Special Forces. He had an interesting life that led him to Burma and to help serve those people in a relief organization that he created.

60 - Free Burma Rangers Part 2: Dave and Karen Eubank and their family in Burma assisting the Burmese people within the attack zones and helping them escape. A result of this ministry birthed the Free Burma Rangers that pray for their enemy and help out their people.

If you’re wondering what episode my son liked? He couldn’t decide between The Dutch Underground or the Free Burma Rangers! He thought it was interesting how unique each story was in this season. From World War II to Vietnam and to the mission fields.

On the website they feature Real Stories behind the stories on the audio drama. They have a lot of good and interesting videos and pictures available to take the adventure further. My family spent a lot of time watching the different videos. Some of the stories are fun while other stories have your heart racing.

I whole heartily recommend all the Brinkman Adventures Seasons.
