The Truth Salvatore’s Revenge by Ta’Mara Hanscom Book Review

"When we started solving cases we had only our wits and common sense. We had no 'smartphones' or social footprints to follow. The FBI had a limited database of fingerprints (about two million), but there were no DNA files we could cross-reference. Early cellphone calls could not be traced; very simple, networked computers were limited to whatever had been inputted into them. The internet twenty years ago was not what it is today. We relied on paper files, old memory notes, microfiche, fax machines, and ordinary maps..."

Marquette Caselli, famed private investigator, faces his most difficult (and oldest) case. Set in the summer of 1998, he is without the benefit of modern day tools and technology. He will have to use his intellect to keep his family safe from the most dangerous member of the infamous Ponerello family, Salvatore Ponerello.

My Thoughts:

With much sadness one of my favorite book series has ended. When I started this series I went into it wanted something different to read with no high expectation. In book one I fell in love with Noah’s and Tillie’s characters. Then I met Tillie’s family and others. Then forget it, I was hooked and couldn’t wait for the next book in the series.

This book surprised me with the suspense and whirlwind of events coming together. There is a lot of action throughout this book. Some events transpired that I didn’t expect.

Many of the kids are grown up and starting their own lives. The story shifts into their lives as they are going out into the world. They have strong faith and morals and love being together with their family. It’s a different world then what their grandparents and parents grow up in. At the same time you’re still entwined with the rest Caselli. With all their imperfections and love of family and faith the story is just precious.

Alyssa, Vincenzo’s daughter who is a United States Marshall unexpectedly finds herself in the trenches of her Uncle Marquette’s case with the Ponerello case. This is no regular case as the old blackguard plans on taking revenge against this family.

Now that I have finished the series I regret giving out the previous book in the series because I want to read it all again to fully grasp all the events that began when Noah and Tillie met. Now I need to get the previous books in this series again!

This is a wonderful series that I highly recommend.
