Teach Sunday School Bible Breakdowns Review
I received this complimentary product through the Homeschool Review Crew
Teach Sunday School has a whole plethora of materials that you can use in your home to dig into the Word. I’m always on the lookout for material that can enhance our study of God’s Word. For the last few weeks, we have been using Bible Breakdowns.
Bible Breakdowns is available for the Old Testament and the New Testament as an individual set or as a bundle for both. My family received both. They came as two downloadable PDFs.
Bible Breakdowns: has a page for each of the 66 books of the Bible, only Matthew has two pages. Bible Breakdowns are organized starting at Genesis through Revelation.
The layout is the same for each page. You have the name of the book at the top center. Next to it, you have a placement of the book. Genesis has a 1 next to it. The book of Esther has a 17. In the Old Testament, you have 1-39 and the New Testament 1-27. Underneath the book number, it has either OT or NT.
Next is a summary of the book with the history and highlights important events/themes. Underneath are five circles the first one tells you how many chapters are in the book. What type of book it is from history to Gospel, etc… the date the book was written and the time frame that the period covered in that book. Ezra would be 550-510 BC, and it ends with the author.
The last section gets into your Breakdowns. The Breakdowns would be the most common known stories in that particular book. It lists each of the chapters and a brief sentence of the prominent event in the chapter. Some of the Breakdowns may combine more than one chapter if the event is a continuation. Above you can see a variety of Breakdowns and how some have a lot and others a lot less.
The last section of the page “Most Popular Verses” will give you the book, chapter, and verse. It then ranks the verse within the book and within the Bible itself.
As a family, we do independent reading and as a family. I printed out both PDFs and put them in a binder for ease of use for the family. The kids read the Bible first thing in the morning. Before we began our academic day we study the Bible together. Currently, we are in the book of Matthew. We keep this nearby and refer to it throughout our study during the week.
My daughter likes to use it in the evening for her bedtime reading. She has been working her way through the complete Bible which for her is a huge accomplishment with her reading challenges. Currently, she is in the book of Psalms. In the morning she likes to jump around and has explored multiple pages with the Bible Breakdowns. Both kids refer to it throughout the week. My daughter wants me to combine the Bible At-a-Glance with this so she can reference both. I think that is a splendid idea.
There are so many ways you can use Bible Breakdowns in your home and church. Many newer Bibles have been leaving out the introductions and information like this. This is a nice supplement for your studies for all ages.
