Healing Grace Touch of Grace Series by Beth Shriver Book Review

Can Abby overcome the pain caused by her father and find acceptance among the Amish?

Abigail Barker is a young woman struggling to keep the family horse farm afloat in Texas. When one of her horses is injured in an accident, Mose Fisher arrives on the scene wanting to help.

As she struggles with the faith she left behind after the death of her mother, Abby finds more than love and safety with Mose and the Amish community. After time spent with Mose and his family, she knows she has to make a choice. Will Abby stay with Mose or go back to her sick father who needs her?

My Thoughts:

This is a heartfelt story of true Christian character. Of a person yearning for kindness, and a life without all the emotional junk she has endured all of her life. Her one true joy is horses. Just when she finds a horse that she is betting her future on the horse gets hurt in an accident.

Abigail has never known what it means to trust. Out of desperation she runs and finds shelter in an Amish home. Abigail is a unique character for an Amish novel. It was refreshing in this series. I couldn’t help but to feel strongly for Abby and cheer her on during this new journey of her life.

Moses was a dashing young man with true Christian character. He was passionate for his faith. Yet, wasn’t afraid to reach out to a non-Amish woman to lead her to true peace and safety with the Lord. He looked outside of their different worlds and seen the heart of someone who desperately needed a friend.
