Caramelized Nuts with Honey and Chili Pequin Pepper

Did you know that September is national honey month? What a wonder month to celebrate honey. Especially since many beekeepers have already or getting ready to harvest their summer honey. This particular recipe comes from the National Honey Board. It's a yummy one..
Caramelized Nuts with Honey and Chili Pequin Pepper
1/4 cup of honey
3 cups of mixed nuts, plain
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon of sea salt
1 teaspoon of chili pequin or powdered cayenne pepper
Heat honey and butter over low heat stirring with a spatula until blended. Add the salt and pepper. Add the nuts, making sure the nuts are covered in the honey mixture.
Place the coated nuts on parchment paper spread them out so they don't all stick together.Let them cool for a few minutes. Heat the oven to 250* and bake the nuts for 10-15 minutes.
Let them cool down and enjoy.
