Storm Rising by Ronie Kendig Book Review
August 08, 2019
Mentioned in the pages of the Septuagint but lost to history, the Book of
the Wars has resurfaced, and its pages hold secrets--and dangers--never before
seen on earth.
Tasked with capturing the ancient text, former Navy SEAL Leif Metcalfe is finally given command of his own team. But their best efforts are ruined when a notorious Bulgarian operative known as "Viorica" snatches the volume right out from under them.
Tasked with capturing the ancient text, former Navy SEAL Leif Metcalfe is finally given command of his own team. But their best efforts are ruined when a notorious Bulgarian operative known as "Viorica" snatches the volume right out from under them.
Iskra "Viorica" Todorova is determined to use the book to secure
the thing that matters most--freedom. But a series of strange storms erupts
around the globe and the coming dangers foretold in the text threaten crops,
lives--entire nations.
Though both are haunted by secrets of their past and neither trusts the
other, Leif and Iskra must form an uneasy alliance to thwart impending
disaster. However, the truth hidden in two-thousand-year-old words could
unleash the storm of their own destruction.
Ronie Kendig has a new series in “The Book of
Wars” After reading her last series “The Tox Files” I was eager to start
reading the newest one. This is really good and I can’t wait for the next book
in the series to come out.
Leif Metcalfe, is back
and is leading his own team. This has several familiar characters and some new
ones. I love how Ronie Kendig can have such diverse characters all wrapped up
in one book and each one is distinct. She gives them so much depth and
character you can’t help but not to get drawn into their lives and have such
strong emotional feeling throughout each and every page. I found myself holding
my breath, laughing, even surprised at some of the twist and turns. You almost
feel like you are part of the story.
The plot and the
imagination of The Books of Wars and taking a historical Biblical reference are
so creative.
The first page pulls you
into the action immediately and leaves you hooked with all the action, suspense,
and even some strange weather. There is even a bit of romance going on
throughout.
Don’t read this before
you go to bed as you will find it hard to put down and a bit sleepy the next day.
This is truly an epic story that didn’t disappoint me at all.
