Have you ever wondered why the wise men brought frankincense and myrrh for the baby Jesus? As a curious and highly enthusiastic child, health and wellness coach Teri Secrest asked everyone she knew and met, but no one could tell her. She grew up thinking it was just a nice little story…but never stopped wondering.
This thirst for knowledge sparked Teri’s twenty-three-year quest to learn about essential oils. It has taken her to the far corners of the world—from Croatia and France to Oman, Israel, and beyond.
Teri has written this book to share the mystery, the romance, and the ageless intrigue of essential oils. She hopes you experience the Father’s love as He continually lavishes His children with these exquisite oils and you feel this rich, biblical history come alive in your spirit. Teri wants you to see how miraculous your body is and how it’s designed to heal itself when given proper nourishment and support.
Essential Oils: God’s Extravagant Provision for Your Health offers practical how-to’s that you can use immediately, including the use of oils for romance, balancing hormones, cooking, cleaning, pets, children, and fragrance, as well as health concerns such as stress, negative emotions, trouble sleeping, weight gain, and anxiety. My Review
I’m impressed how Teri Secrest compiled the information in her
book. I’ve read and looked over several books throughout the years on essential
oils. This book reads easily and explained essential oils and such depth that
made it enjoyable. She shares her personal journey of coming to the knowledge
of essential oils. This would be a wonderful book for someone who is just
exploring essential oils or even for long time users.
She does a wonderful job explaining what essential oils are. I
love how she breaks down the process of distilling essential oils, different
ways to use essential oils, and even the importance of quality essential oils. She
even explains how to select brands but does not endorse a specific brand,
essential oil blends, and other helpful advice. All the essential oils I recall
reading about in here are singles and not blends.
The book is beautiful-strange to say and not something I usually
say about a book. The photos and the placement of them and even the paper. The
colors are really appealing to the eyes.
There are several scriptures throughout that talk about anointing
oils. I found it interesting that she mentions that she mentions that there are
over 500 scripture verses on plants and oils.
She breaks up the book with the essential oils with the 12 body
systems: cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine, immune, integumentary, muscular,
nervous, reproductive, respiratory, skeletal and urinary and goes on to explain
essential oils that are useful for certain systems. She breaks each area up
nicely with what the essential oil is useful for and gives you several options
of essential oils. She explains in details what specific area it may be useful
for. She has a nice reference in the back of the book.
Another area I found intriguing was using certain essential oils
in recipes for cooking. I personally haven’t done used them in this manner. I
used them in drinking water. She included several recipes. She even talks about a taboo subject of romance and essential oils. Don't worry it's nothing rated R but she talks about how certain oils can help certain issues for both male and female.
The layout of the book is nice and easy to find what you need. It’s
very comprehensive and interesting. I enjoyed this book and learned several things about essential oils that we be useful for my family. Thank you Teri for a delightful and informative book.
