Considering Homeschooling Info-Pak Option B Review
I received this complimentary product through the Homeschool Review Crew
It’s hard to believe that I just graduated my
daughter this year and my son just completed his first year of high school.
It’s been such a joy homeschooling my kids from the beginning. It hasn’t been
easy at times and we have had lots of ups and downs. If you are considering
homeschooling or already started there are resources to help you on your
homeschool journey.
The Old Schoolhouse® has a resource Considering Homeschooling Info-Pak Option B has a wealth of resources to assist you in your homeschool.
Ordering was super easy. You will need to create an account if you don’t already have one with The Old Schoolhouse®. They can be downloaded as many times as you want and none of them expire ever.
Considering Homeschooling Info-Pak Option B comes with a total of 62 eBooks and some physical products.
With the physical component you will receive:
The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine back issue that in itself is a wealth of information for you. There are beneficial articles that cover all sorts of topics. My particular issue has information on record keeping, freezer meals, high school transcript, financial peace, encouragements, reviews on curriculum, and other curriculum ads and information. You can see some of the other issues I have too.
10 Ways to Bring Up Your Little Man refrigerator hanging and 10 Ways to Bring Up Your Little Lady refrigerator hanging- Two cute encouragement that you can hang on your refrigerator or in your homeschooling area. One for a boy and one for a girl. On those days when you are having a bad day and need a gentle reminder like smothering them with hugs and kisses, praying with them for their future spouse, teach them Proverbs, instilling in them a strong character and so many other attributes that are essential for raising Godly young women and men.
Fallout! DVD Students Explain Why They Left or Remained in Church DVD-this is a short documentary from Creation Ministry that interviews students on campuses explaining why they left the church and it also has others on the other end with students who continued in worship in the church. You can see that those who were Biblically equipped to stand up against evolution and have a strong stance on Biblical creation stayed grounded. I really enjoyed this documentary.
The Homeschooling Primer: What Home Education Looks Like & How to Start- This resource is from The Old Schoolhouse® This pamphlet gives you information about homeschooling from the benefits of homeschooling, knowing your child's learning styles, learning methods, or styles of teaching your child. It covers all the popular methods from traditional, Charolette Mason, and others. It explains the methods to give you an overview of the style. Information to look into before you start homeschooling. Encouragement throughout and it even has information on special need kiddos and teaching them at home. This little gem is packed with lots of other useful information.
Plus a few other physical items that relate to your state and other products. They may vary. I had a The Old Schoolhouse® pencil, DVD on the Five Flavors of Homeschooling, Kid Zone Activity Book for the state of Arizona, Keys for Kids Daily Devotionals for Kids sample, a packet of wildflower seeds, CD Family Worship Seeds, hardback book of Purposeful Design by Jay Schabacker, and a few other odds and ends. As you can tell there is a lot for you to explore.
Some of the physical components are always part of the set like Purposeful Design by Jay Schabacker, The Homeschooling Primer: What Home Education Looks Like & How to Start, The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine back issue, 10 Ways to Bring Up Your Little Man refrigerator hanging and 10 Ways to Bring Up Your Little Lady refrigerator hanging, and Fallout! My son has done this course and you can read my review on it here.
62 eBooks, eCourses, WeEbook, WannaBe E-Book, Curiosity Files E-Book, ePamplet. I have to admit that eBooks aren’t my favorite thing. Thankfully I can download them and look at them on my computer and if it is something I really like I can print it out too. They are easy to navigate as a digital component.

High school is what is on my radar since my son’s high school will not look the same as my special needs daughter who graduated this year. I also needed a bit of fresh air of encouragement.
One resource I have been utilizing is Homeschooling the High Schooler by Paul & Gena Suarez-this 18 chapter eBook is a 3-part book from various authors.
Part One: You Can Homeschool Through the High School Years
The book is clickable with a sidebar to jump quickly to different chapters throughout.
In a nutshell, you will read about the journey of a mom who decides to homeschool high school. Throughout the eBook, she talks about some of the resources she used from books, websites, and other options to utilize in your homeschool. It includes links to the resources. I love how she shares her motives to homeschool and it is the “Heart” and breaks it down into tidbits of her motivation.
It continues giving you some resources explaining what is considered a high school credit, typical course requirements, strategies, record keeping, and other essentials to successfully get your student through high school.
Part Two: Options and Resources to Help You
In this section, you are reminded that each child is different in their educational needs and the beauty of homeschooling is that we can tailor their high school to their likes and strengths.
Resources are mentioned like HSLD, dual credit, CLEP, test-taking, job shadowing, keeping it real, and essential information on core subjects.
Part Three: Preparing for the Future
Brings together all the components needed for high school it explores transcripts and their importance for your student.
How to use extracurricular activities and convert them into credit.
I appreciated the section on A College Selection for Christian Checklist. After homeschooling since pre-school, I can’t help to have some trepidation sending my son off to college. So many kids walk away from their faith in those years. This was encouraging and uplifting to me to read. If you have a child who isn’t college-bound it has information to guide you through apprenticeship and vocational learning.
Hey Mama! 31-Day Devotional by Gena Suarez
This has been a stressful and very eventful year for my family. I enjoy reading a quick devotional before we begin homeschooling. It took me years to discover that. This easy and lighthearted devotional would have been a huge breath of fresh air the first year I started homeschooling.
Each day is a few short paragraphs and starts with Hey Mama, the focus on scripture and encouragement to training up our kids in the Lord. It’s a sweet reminder to carry on. That our hope is in the Lord even when we are weary. What better way to start your day and to remember God is in control.
The graphics are beautiful. I would love to see a yearly devotional like this!
Homeschooling Young Children by Diana Hurst
My kids and I have sweet memories of when we began our homeschool journey. We had a lot of fun making learning hands on. That’s not to say that we didn’t have bad days.
This was a neat eBook that has fun activities you can do with your kids. It has ideas for activities like teaching your kids your phone number to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Teaching your little one months, numbers, alphabet, matching, shapes, and all the essentials needed to begin homeschooling.
It has some easy and cost-efficient manipulatives for you to make yourself like tile numbers, homemade abacus, matching games, and activities to make it fun and real.
I would have loved this resource when I first started homeschooling.
This is just the tip of the iceberg with all the resources in Considering Homeschooling Info-Pak Option B for you to use.
