My Thoughts:
I love Carole P. Roman books. They have all been a huge hit with my kids. I
was thrilled to see a larger chapter book for my son who loves history. Add the
spies, double agents, and code breakers to the mix he is hooked.
I liked that it just didn’t focus on the war situations in Europe but in
other places. The book gives you some
portraits of different spies both males and females. You even get a glimpse of
spies today. The book gives you a great overview of how important spies were in
the war.
The book has a neat glossary with the vocabulary. It talks about all the
spy gadgets. There are additional websites that you can explore. I enjoy that
it covers some of the obvious spy topic but even ones that I didn’t think
about.
My son read this book quickly and enjoyed it from the front cover to the
back.
